Since then the pink colored crystal has also been unearthed in India, Mexico, Sweden, Madagascar, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Canada, and the USA. Made up of manganese inosilicate and with swirling shadows of manganese oxide, it measures between a 5 and a 6 on the Mohs hardness scale.
